So you want to make beads. This is where you start. We'll go through the fundamentals of glass bead making...safety, science stuff, stringers and twisties, different shapes and what tools to use... All materials and tools are provided in this 2 day, 8 hour class (4 hours each day). $400. Class is held at Pacific Art Glass in Gardena.
This is where you start your journey of glass blowing. You'll start by making paperweights. This experience will prepare you for blowing a bubble and moving on towards glasses and bowls and sculptural items. You need to walk before you can run so start here. You'll make at least 2-3 paperweights.
I’ll be hanging out with the good folks from Adam’s Forge and we’ll be at Heritage Square over in Monticito Heights. Next to Highland Park. I’m melting glass…they’re forging metals. Fire artsists unite!! Fire is a tool!

I’ll be a part of this renewed event and I’ll be hanging out over at Heather McLarty and Troy Evans fabulous, historic home. This is a two day class with the second class scheduled for the following Saturday, May 14, from 9:30-11:30. In this two day introduction class we'll explore fusing and slumping. Day one we'll talk about the properties of glass, firing schedules and what they are, cut glass and finally assemble a few pieces that will be fused. Day two we'll examine the fused glass making sure there are no sharp edges and everything looks good to slump into a mold to form plates. We'll discuss the design choices that were made and the results. Beginners are welcome and all supplies and tools are provided for this two day, 5 hour class.
